X11R6.8.2 is an Open Source version of the X Window System that supports many UNIX(R) and UNIX-like operating systems
(such as Linux, FreeBSD, NetBSD, OpenBSD and Solaris x86) on Intel and other platforms.
This version is compatible with X11R6.6, and is based on the XFree86 4.4.0RC2 code base,
which, in turn was based on the X Consortium X11R6.6 and earlier sample implementations.

Also getting help from Claudio Pinheiro with this now.
WARNING! this is a version that is constantly developing and there will be bugs. Only try this if you want to use bleeding edge. And it is absolutely needed to understand urpmi before installing this.
Since this version require a lot of upgraded dependencys like xorg-6.8.2 alsa-1.0.8 my latest jackit and also recomended the multimedia kernel.
Would i advice to update in stages first xorg-6.8.2 + Mesa-6.3.
Then kernel, alsa + jackit + some other needed dependencys.
Then when all this is working its time for kde upgrade.
Never use --force if you do it will break.
Do not ask Mandrake developers for help with this, they will not help.
To get help with this visit forums at mandrakeusers.org.
I have just recently found the cause of the kdm bug making it impossible to login using kdm no keyboard and such.
It was caused by the fact the upgrading kdebase-kdm-config-file didnt replace the existing 3.3.x config files.
This bug is present in the official kde-3.4 at the club also.
If you have upgraded and have this problem you will have to unistall with
rpm -e --nodeps kdebase-kdm-config-file
as root in console after have sent init 3 to shutdown kde or reboot.
and the reinstall with
urpmi kdebase-kdm-config-file
then restart kde with init 5 or reboot.
