We recommend the rpm management tool
named Smart. |
We do recommend it because urpmi
or rpmdrake are buggy tools and in some cases |
they create inexistant problems during
installation that would never occur when using smart |
since our rpms are rpm tested before
they are publicly available. |
So please add our MDE repository with
command (as root): |
urpmi.addmedia --update MDE http://www.mde.djura.org/2007.1/RPMS
with hdlist.cz |
Then also as root in a console
run: urpmi smart-gui |
You are now ready to run smart, simply
click in the smart icon |
or in a console enter:
smart-root --gui |
Note: |
MDE smart haves all needed repositories, but if for some reason |
the existant repositories dont
work, enter Easy Urpmi
and
add them. |
The repositories main, contrib,
plf-free and plf-nonfree have frequently needed |
rpms, so if you intend to use urpmi
or rpmdrake dont forget to add them. |
| |
You should check
Easy Urpmi to add needed
RPM resources. |
Since isnt possible to update the kernel
(mandriva still didnt resolved this issue), is needed to "manually" |
install the kernel-source of the
corresponding version-release kernel installed, then just reboot. |
